In keeping with our mandate to enhance the education sector, the Sagicor Foundation offers scholarships to students at the secondary and tertiary levels. The Foundation grants scholarships to Sagicor stakeholders including clients, children of clients and children of Sagicor team members. The Sagicor Foundation selects 20 – 25 scholars each year to receive up to $300,000 towards tuition fees to attend the following institutions: University of the West Indies, University of Technology, Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, Mico University College, Caribbean Maritime University, and the Northern Caribbean University. After receiving hundreds of applications, successful candidates are interviewed and selected based on academic merit, leadership, community involvement and financial need. The scholars are clients/children of clients and Sagicor team members’ children. The scholarship is renewable annually for up to four years. Twenty-three (23) students drawn from various Sagicor stakeholders, who excelled in the PEP exams are awarded academic scholarships to attend secondary institutions. Additionally, scholarships are granted to the champion boy and girl from the Jamaica Teachers’ Association/Sagicor National Athletics Championships. Each scholarship is valued at $50,000 per annum and is renewable annually for up to five years.
